To the Communist Party,losing control is the most scary thing imaginable in all spheres, so they are trying to control the stock market. What's happening is not that big a deal but being in unfamiliar waters they are making things worse.So look towards a further drop...possibly a very large one. When that happens, the Chinese will be more interested in stabilising their own economy than financing Putin's grand plans. This still has to play out for a while.
