From my connections with the VS Roosevelt family, I know that UN inventor Franklin Delano Roosevelt and his wife Elenaor Roosevelt, in their draft version, had NOT provided for a veto right, following failure of the League of Nations, where every country had veto right. Now you can overrule a veto from one of the permanent members of the Security Council based on UN charter art. 377 in UN General Assembly, but that is not widely used. If veto rights Security Council are abolished that only the US and RF prove to be against, then LAW can finally be applied in the world, and war and refugee flows can simply be stopped. But those 2 countries apparently want the current lawless situation to exist.
