Unique 800 y.o. seal belonging to Belarus patron saint found in Polotsk.
The artifact was discovered by scientists on the territory of St. Euphrosyne monastery in the town Polotsk. The priceless finding spent over 800 years in the ground.
In spite of the long period in the ground, it is in good condition, the head of the scientific expedition, who made the finding, told the media.
One side of the seal has the face of a saint depicted on it, the other has an inscription indicating that it belonged to Euphrosyne of Polotsk, a patron saint of Belarus and one of the greatest women in the Belarusian history.
On 4-7 June the seal will be on display at Polotsk National Historical and Cultural Museum Reserve. Then it will be back to Polotsk State University for restoration and conservation.
Scientists claim that St.Euphrosyne seal is a proof that Polotsk monastery was not only a big spiritual and cultural centre, but also an important social and political center in XII century.

Donetsk high school graduates sent back to USSR
The so-called "Farewell bell" (high school graduation ceremony in the post-Soviet countries) taken May 30 in Donetsk was an utter surprise to the graduates born in independent Ukraine in the late 90ies.
For some reason, the ceremony organizers made graduates pose in Russian folk costumes (sarafans and kokoshniks!?), Soviet-era red pioneer caps, and sing Soviet songs.
Adding up to the grotesque scene, the school kids held flags of the fake "LPR", "DPR" and "Novorossia" statelets and greeted the visiting Ukrainophobic singer Iosif Kobzon.

Poroshenko suggests full economic blockade of occupied territories in Donbas
President Poroshenko's faction leader Yuriy Lutsenko has suggested full economic blockade of the Russian-occupied territories in Donbas referring to them as a "cancerous tumor", while speaking in the Ukrainian parliament Tuesday, according to UNIAN.
"The President believes that this cancerous tumor is subject to a full blockade. The transport blockade adopted by the head of the Luhansk state administration Hennadiy Moskal is the correct policy, which should be extended to the occupied territory of the Donets region", the MP stated.
"The logic used here is simple. It's either Russia withdraws its terrorist groups and equipment allowing Ukraine to establish control over the state border or we temporarily impose a blockade along the demarcation line", Lutsenko said.
In addition, BPP leader said that the middle class should leave the occupied territories and be issued credits in Ukraine in order to start businesses and create new jobs. Lutsenko also stressed the need to deploy an effective pro-Ukrainian campaign in the media and social networks in Ukraine and the whole world.
As reported earlier, on May 12 Hennadiy Moskal cut transport movement with the militant-controlled territory, with the exception of cyclists, pedestrians, and vehicles belonging to international humanitarian organizations.
