Russia Is Building A New Tank And It Sounds TERRIFYING ‪#‎Ukraine‬
It's not secret that Vladimir Putin has been flexing his military muscles for a couple years now. But earlier this week during a rehearsal for their annual Victory Day parade this Saturday, Russia showed the world a brand new feature of its defense program: The new Russian T-14 Armata tank. Vocativ made a video about the new war machine that you can watch above. Meanwhile, Russia's Ministry of Defense has posted pics of the big unveiling. RT.com has more details:
Armata is actually a tracked platform capable of hosting a tank, APC, artillery piece and missile launcher. The Armata medium tank is a cutting-edge vehicle with an unmanned turret armed with a brand new 125 mm smoothbore cannon, which is the most powerful gun of its kind to date in terms of muzzle energy.
The Washington Times notes that Putin wants 2,300 Armata vehicles ready by 2020.

In this time leading up to the commemoration of the end of WWII, it is important to remember not just how the war ended, but how it began.
Though Russia glories in its victory over Nazi Germany in the "Great Patriotic War", no mention whatsoever is made of how the Soviet Union invaded Poland from the east just 16 days after Germany invaded from the west. And all this was thoroughly premeditated and arranged per agreement between Berlin and Moscow.
The secret Molotov-Ribbentrop pact had arbitrarily divided the otherwise peaceful and sovereign nations of Eastern Europe into spheres of influence between Germany and the Soviet Union.

Thus, Russian fascism was responsible for the start of WWII in 1939 - there was no foreseen war between Germany and the Soviet Union at that time. What you also notice is the information/propaganda war which is coming from our eastern neighbour, namely Russia. Indeed as one expert, James Sherr, has observed, in the hands of Russia hybrid warfare could "cripple a state before that state even realizes the conflict had begun," and yet it manages to "slip under NATO's threshold of perception and reaction." Sherr is right."
"The hybrid warfare concept gives many in the West the luxury of picking and choosing from a range of actions – a media campaign here, a cyber-intrusion there (and even the occasional political assassination) – and interpreting them as one-off isolated events. There is no need to connect the dots. Indeed, it is often easier to look at the unfinished page, suggestive of possibilities that become clear only with a deliberate completion of the picture. Inadvertently, the flexibility of the instruments inherent in hybrid warfare tempts policy makers to detach the specific tactics from the overarching political goals that drive a war. A war fought with hybrid means becomes thus an incomprehensible sequence of improvisations, disparate actions along various geographic fronts – "humanitarian convoys" followed by conventional war with artillery and tanks in Eastern Ukraine, "peacekeeping operations" in Transnistria, cyber-attacks in Estonia, vast disinformation campaigns on mass media, seemingly random forays of heavy bombers in the North Sea, submarine games in the Baltic Sea, and so on – that appear vaguely connected. Let me state the obvious. Russia's hybrid war is being waged on multiple fronts by multiple armies. We all know about the troll army in Leningrad and the propagandists posing as journalists on RT and regular Russian television. What we don't see is the army of economists and lawyers, who are most certainly working behind the scenes. That is an area where Ukraine needs real assistance. We focus on aid for the military, but what about lawyers donating billable hours to make a case against Russia in international tribunals? What about economists devising incremental sanctions, to keep raising the cost for Putin? Russians have been playing the game of deceipt, international pressure and manipulation for centuries. It's time to make them reap what they sow!
