Truly naïve on Poroshenko's part but he will find out the hard way.
So Ukraine has to "cleanup" it's act before anyone will actually help us?? So how many more lives will be lost because Europe and the US want a clean government. Wow, the US should look at it's own track record.
Ukraine has to demonstrate progress in ensuring the security of its borders, provide efficiency and combat capability of its armed forces, succeed in economic and judicial reforms, as well as put an end to corruption.

This is the original 1920 memorandum requesting the US Government to recognize the young Ukrainian People's Republic as a free state after the fall of the Russian Empire (electronically published by Project Gutenberg). Please note the borders of Ukraine in 1920. They reflected the distribution of Ukrainian population. Beside including the Donbas and the Crimea, in the east, the country extended far into what is now the Russian Federation.

Dear English-speaking friends,

I almost never ask for reposts. I am asking now. The first picture here is of a girl getting her father's medal. The others-- same girl with her father and of her father by himself. She has her father's medal because her father, Andrij Matvienko, died last summer, fighting to defend his and her homeland, Ukraine, from invasion by Russian-staffed, supplied, armed and financed hordes. And now, get this, Russian troll hordes are fighting a Facebook war on this photograph, on the photograph of a child refusing to cry while receiving her father's medal.

The problem is that in their infinite wisdom, Facebook powers that be have not yet gotten around to creating a separate admin office for Ukraine, and so all of the admin disputes (you know, what happens when you report content as inappropriate) for Ukrainian segment of FB goes through the Russian admin office. The war Russia has been waging in Ukraine has been called a hybrid war. This is one example of why-- while many Kremlin thugs are dressed in fatigues and armed with guns, many more are dressed in well, an assortment of stuff ranging from suits to pajamas, and armed with keyboards.

Russian troll army has put in a significant effort into reporting this picture and getting it removed. And why do FB employees in Russia remove content that clearly doesn't violate any FB regulation? Possible answers range from "they have to do it because of the volume of reports-- the system is being played against itself" to "they may be FB employees, but they work for FSB [modern version of KGB]." I can't tell you why they are doing it, but I can tell you that at least in one case, the explanation the user from whose wall the picture was removed got for the removal was NUDITY. (Note to Russian trolls-- I saved all these pictures, and the text. If this post disappears, I will post it again. As many times as needed. Trust me on this.)

So please, repost. I want this to be known outside of the Russian- and Ukrainian-speaking segments. And I want the opposite of what the Kremlin trolls are trying to achieve to happen-- I want the world to see the face of what Russia is doing to Ukraine. I want the world to see the tragedy, the loss, the pain, but also the determination. This girl and her friends will live in a free and prosperous country. And they will remember. And so will we.

You can see that the majority of the names of executive Soviet officers (who signed these papers) were Russians. One or two belong to an Armenian (Mikoyan), a Georgian (Beria) and a Jewish (Kaganovich) men. The majority of the murderers have Russian names, and these men requested to kill more than it was originally scheduled of non-Russian citizens living on the USSR territory as well as foreign citizens.
