I write already more then 50 year in local/regional media and since 1996 on internet and seen as good analyst and problemsolver, data is everything. And am strong believer in referenda, but title/subject should be guided under strict rules, so it can't be viewed as a vote for or against another point. Initiators of this said it should be regarded as vote against EU, so under my rules, it should have been regareded as invalid at that time. A lot of people btw also call me a populist too :-) subjects can be explained to anyone in layman's verbs, but claims of any party in referenda that can be regarded as false or propaganda, should be excluded from the discussion by the overruling commissonor or referendum is considerd invalid.
In this case f.i. the fact that in east-Ukraine there is a civil war.
Worldwide sanctions would not be in place if that was true, instead a lot of russian military connection are sanctioned, which would not be, if it was a civil war.. So merely such a statement made in discussion by any party then referendum should be considerd invalid from that point on. That "sentence" would be a instrument to make any party in a referendum look more carefully at which statements they are willing to use to avoid that.
