Hats off -- this is how some courageous Russian activists wished Nadiya Savchenko a happy birthday on May 11.
There was supposed to be a banner "Putin, mind the business of your OWN country - release Savchenko!", but the police demanded to remove such a scandalous slogan (and after threats of taking to the police station it was removed). All movements of the group of activists was carefully monitored by a convoy of three police officers and a police car, that accompanied them at all times.
Can you imagine that in an atmosphere like this, and draconian laws for curbing freedom of assembly there are still people that gather to speak out against Putin's injustice in Russia!
