WRONG, it were russian speaking Ukrainians from east-Ukraine  at first who stood up to the RF invaders, also the most deaths and wounded/handicapped are russian speaking Ukrainians from east Ukraine! The language you speak doesn't matter, but the country you feel you belong to, stand up for, and DIE or get wounded for....from 2013 I got first into contact with  russian speaking  Ukrainians from east-Ukraine, from Kharkiv, Kramatorsk, and now RF occupied Donetsk, Luhansk and Crimea, and they all resented the RF invasions, and if they had RF family they got into angry fight with them. Although now with occupied areas communication is more difficult, they still resent the RF soldiers and mercs which they call criminals all.
BTW most of them now learn Ukrainian as second language and got more interested in the Ukrainian way of living, the history and customs. A Kharkiv English, Italian, Russian language teacher told me while request for russian fades, for Ukrainian it rises a lot.
