This is a very bad deal.

(1) You should never give in to Russia first. If you give in, the demands will only increase.

(2) If Russia, whose economy is in dire straits, manages to pull this off, what would happen if they had a good hand?

(3) This is the prelude to the next war. The West is fattening the Russian economy again and contributing to the next war.

(4) The West is losing its sense of urgency, and suddenly we'll be surprised if Russia attacks Ukraine (and the Baltic countries).

(5) This doesn't solve the core of the problem: Russia refuses to accept a Western Ukraine. They only want a Ukraine like the one under Yanukovych. In fact, like Lukashenko.

That's their definition of neutrality.
