Export earnings of Belarus down by almost $5 billion in the first half of 2015.
In six months of this year Belarus earned $16.7 billion in foreign currencies - $4.9 billion less compared with the same period last year. However, due to a significant reduction of imports Belarus retains a positive balance of foreign payments.
In June, currency earnings of Belarus from exports of goods and services, and transfers reached $3.1 billion, which is 19.8% less than in June 2014.
The decrease in revenues can be explained by lower earnings from trade with Russia and EU countries.
It should be noted that alongside the reduction of export revenues a more significant reduction of Belarusian payments for foreign goods and services has been registered.
In particular, the payments for goods and services decreased by 26.3% (from 20.3 billion US dollars in the first half of 2014 to 15 billion in the first half of 2015).
As a result, Belarus reached a positive balance of foreign payments totalling $1.7 billion in January-June 2015.
