Funny and call me cynical, that one of the countries USA, that together with Russia and China, most important permanent members of UNSC, who with the 3 cause the most of wars, dispairs, and 60 million+ refugees in the world, now discusses  if they should take refugees they themselves caused, or instead make it Europe´s problem.
Solution is very simple, as with most problems,  no more vetopowers in UNSC will make Earth get finally get some peace, and prosperity.
USA always vetoes anything on Palestine, Russia always vetos anything on Syria & UKRAINE..so who are you permanent members of UNSC trying to fool?

Emotional speeches of Samantha Powers or Angelina Jolie before UNSC, while EVERYONE knows its just for the buhne, cause one or more of the permanent members will veto any resolution!

Many blame UN for not acting, but it are the 3 biggest permanent members of UNSC that block any action.
BTW EU pays 40% of UN budget and peacekeeping, USA pays not full of what they've agreed, just 22%, and total owed by countries to UN is 3.5 billion..the rich oilstates many friends of USA, don't take refugees and pay a laughable percentage of UN budget. Every country should pay a percentage of their income, and when NO PAY, then NO SAY, permanent member UNSC or not!

Again, who are you blaming, or kidding??

Don't blame Europe, and don't blame UN, blame the permanent members of UNSC: USA, Russia and China specific.
