How did the USA and NATO fail Ukraine?

Because here is the uncomfortable truth: if the United States stopped cooperating tomorrow, Europe would have almost nothing left to send in meaningful quantities.

The entire system has been built on the assumption that America will always fill the gap...but America never actually opened the vault.

Meanwhile:

The U.S. has hundreds of Abrams tanks sitting in boneyards... and Ukraine received only 31.

The U.S. has thousands of M113s parked in storage lots collecting dust... and it is cheaper to ship them overseas than to keep maintaining them.

The U.S. has stockpiles of vehicles, guns, F-16 aircraft, and equipment mothballed across deserts and depots... gear that will never be used by the American military again.

All of this could have been delivered immediately, at scale, in 2022. It was not.

Instead, Ukraine was fed a slow drip...just enough to survive, never enough to win.

If victory had truly been the goal, the West would have emptied storage depots, reopened production lines, and flooded the battlefield with everything needed to break Russia's military. That is how you win wars. That is how you save lives. That is how you stop an invasion.

But that is not what happened.
And that reveals the real strategy:

Keep Ukraine alive... but never let Ukraine actually win.

What should have been said long ago and clearly was finally heard in the US Senate.

After several days of confusion, contradictory comments, and attempts to pass off Russian wishes as a "peace plan," a voice of reason has finally emerged in Washington.

And this voice belongs not to anyone, but to the chairman of the US Senate Armed Services Committee, Roger Wicker - a man whose opinion counts on matters of defense, strategic threats, and national security.

Wicker did what others feared: he called things by their proper names.

"Smeared on the wall" is not an exaggeration. It is an accurate description of what happened.

Wicker said publicly what had long been whispered among parts of American politics:
the 28-point "plan" being pushed by Trump, Witkoff, and other mediators is not the path to peace.

This is the path to Ukraine's capitulation and fostering even greater Kremlin aggression.

His position is simple and ironclad:

"Forcing Ukraine to give up land to Putin's butcher is absurd."
"The decision on the size of the Ukrainian army and its deployment is made only by the Ukrainian leadership."
"Any concessions to the dictator are not a compromise, but an encouragement to a predator."

These words are not just criticism.
They are a clear rebuff by the American legislature to attempts to impose "peace" on Ukraine through unilateral surrenders.

The senator says the Trump administration is afraid to admit:

Kremlin concessions are a blow to the US

Wicker voices a fundamental truth that the Trump team is trying to forget:

"Any gifts to the Kremlin are not only detrimental to Ukraine, but also to the security of the United States and its allies."

Giving Putin even a sliver of foreign territory in exchange for a temporary "pause" would:
- undermine global security guarantees;
- demonstrate that aggression works;
- pave the way for new wars;
- make allies doubt the sustainability of American guarantees.

What Putin demands of Ukraine today, he will demand of the Baltics tomorrow, and of NATO the day after tomorrow.
And forcing Ukraine to "comply" with Russian conditions means signing off on the fact that dictators can trade foreign territories like pieces of meat.

What changed in the Senate?

We began to understand a simple, rigid historical pattern

Wicker is not a random voice.
Others are following him.
A clear understanding is beginning to form in the Senate, even among Republicans:

Concessions to tyrants never end in peace.
They end in new calamity.

This is the lesson of Munich in 1938.
The lesson of Obama's "red line" on Syria.
The lesson of Georgia in 2008, when the world "swallowed" Russian aggression - and got a war against Ukraine in 2014 and a full-scale invasion in 2022.

The weakness of the West is always paid for with the blood of those it promises to support.
And Wicker has shown very clearly that he understands this, and therefore, there are still politicians in the US who are capable of thinking strategically.

The tone is changing - and this is a bad sign for the "architects" of the 28-point plan

After Wicker's statements, it becomes obvious that:
- the Witkoff-Vance plan does not have sufficient support in the Senate;
- attempts to call the surrender document an "American peace" are failing;
- opposition to the legalization of Russian ultimatums is emerging in the domestic political field of the United States.

And most importantly: public criticism from the chairman of the Armed Forces Committee is a signal to both Trump and the Kremlin that playing the "cheese trap" with forced peace is not as simple as some thought.

Result

Wicker's words are more than emotion.
They are a red card to the Kremlin's peace scenarios, voiced from the highest legislative rostrum in the United States.

And this is something that not only Ukraine has long needed.
This is something that the West itself has long needed to remember:
